FOUNDING LEADERS OF STUDIO KALARI

STUDIO KALARI IN INDIA

In 2013, in Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala, India) we built a kalari, or a building in which kalarippayattu is practised.  It is located just next to Sankar family house.

It is called Alamkottu Kalari Sangham – a kalari of brave Hanuman (the Hindu monkey god).

Almost every winter we stay there 1–2 months (January and February) and lead trainings for students, both beginners and advanced.  Some of them come from Wrocław where we run regular classes, while others come from all over the world (Italy, France, Spain, USA, Korea and other countries).

Below you can see some photos take by Sebastian Góra in 2020 during the last (pre-covid) winter kalari retreat. We are planning to organise another retreat there in winter 2026.
